5th September each year is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in honour of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who wished that his birthday isn’t celebrated but rather observed as ‘Teacher’s Day’ to thank them for their contribution to the society. So on this day, we at AIPS too wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude towards our teachers, who work day in and out for their dear learners to mould them to be better humans each day. We celebrated this day along with Auxilium Convent High School. The program began at 8.30 a.m. with all the learners assembling in the school hall. The learners of AIPS were all dressed in pink outfits for their performance. As the music played the teachers entered the hall one by one while everyone cheered and clapped for them. They were greeted with big smiles and a beautiful floral brooch. At the beginning we had a very meaningful prayer service where special prayers were said for all the teachers. It was then time for the learners of AIPS to perform the action songs as Sr. Sandra played the tunes on the piano and Ms. Abigail sang the songs. The learners were all excited about their performance and indeed did a great job. The hall was filled with the sounds of praises and applauds as the learners took a bow after their performance. Everyone appreciated their zeal and enthusiasm. The day was filled with various performances by the learners of Auxilium Convent High School. It was a delight to watch the talented youngsters perform to the best of their ability for their teachers. We all clicked pictures with our respective classes. Sr. Magdeline Sequeira, our Manager then gave all the teachers a token of love while the students gave them beautiful potted plants. The teachers thanked the sisters and the learners for their efforts to put up an amazing show. At the end of the program all the learners moved back home as the teachers gathered for a celebration organized by the student leaders of the school along with the sisters. We played different games like musical chairs, bombing the subject, passing it reverse... The spot prizes specially were the highlight of the game time. The teachers were in their full glory enjoying it all. It was then time for lunch that was blessed by Sr. Magdeline. We all enjoyed the scrumptious meal that was arranged with love for the special day. The day ended on a sweet note with memories to cherish forever.
