A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and souls of its people. India got its freedom on 15th August 1947 and became Republic on 26th January 1950. The new Constitution of Free India came into force with effect from this day. The architect of the Constitution of India was Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Every year on 26th January we celebrate this great day in India.
At AIPS, the day was celebrated with great éclat. Learners along with their facilitators, Manager and Principal were gathered to celebrate this special day dedicated to our freedom fighters and unsung heroes of our country who played a major role in the drafting of the Constitution. Learners assembled in the class and the activity for the day that was the tri colour fan made with the help of the facilitators.
The celebration started with a short prayer service after which together we took the pledge. Our AIPS learners from the Senior and Junior K.G. came dressed as some of the unsung freedom fighters like Maulana Peer Ali Khan, Rani Gaidnilu, Lakshmi Sahgal, Sarojini Naidu, Rani Laxmibai and Aruna Asaf Ali and shared some facts about them. Melodiously sung in different languages like Marathi – ‘Hay Rashtra Devatanche’, Hindi – ‘Saare Jahan Se Acchaa and Bengali – ‘Ekla Chalo’’ by our Junior and Senior K.G. learners evoked patriotic fervour among the audience. Our Nursery learners were dressed in elegant traditional attires of different states to show the beauty in diversity and how “India is a welcome home to diverse cultures”.
Our Manager and our Principal too enlightened us about the importance of Republic Day. The learners were made aware of who formed the Constitution of India and how it is a guideline for the peaceful co-existence of one and all in India. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Simran Chhabria expressing gratitude towards everyone present during the celebration.
With pride in our hearts we culminated the Republic Day celebrations by singing our National Anthem with heightened spirit.
