Learning through Field Trips – A Brilliant Initiative by Savio Kindergarten, Matunga.

It was indeed a pleasure to host the 147 Savio Kindergarten Pre-Schoolers as they were on their field trip to different Pre-Schools Canossa- Mahim, Dominic Savio Andheri and Don Bosco International, Matunga to learn from their physical settings.
The date fixed was Saturday 23rd July 2022 and our Pre-School Facilitators warmly welcomed the smart little Senior K.G. boys of Savio Kindergarten in 3 batches accompanied by their Home teacher together with the Assistant Teacher.
The learners arrived at 10.00 a.m. all with smiling faces as they walked in at AIPS. The first batch moved towards the Senior K.G. classroom in a disciplined manner with the guidance of their teachers. Our Senior K.G. facilitator, Ms Shrutika Malhotra engaged the learners with action songs and rhymes. The brisk dance moves energised the learners and enthused them to explore more. The learners looked at the colourful charts in the classroom as the facilitator helped them understand it.
Soon the next batch moved to the Junior K.G. Classroom where our Junior K.G. facilitator, Ms Anam Arkate did the Pinocchio action song that the learners had fun doing. It was a delight to see them immersed in the activity along with their teachers.
The third batch moved to the Nursery classroom with Sr. Sandra Fernandes awaiting for them eagerly. The little learners were taken up by informational charts. As Sr. Sandra got involved in the digital media, their teacher got the learners engaged with an interaction through the charts.
The entire ambience was that of learning as the teachers picked up every opportunity to ensure that learning happened all along the way like the Red day chart on the corridor was an occasion to delve on the colour Red, the concept of a sand table, the water pool and so on. It was wonderful to see the management of the teachers as they helped the learners move around so swiftly with co-ordination.
The teachers and learners appreciated the efforts of the Staff at AIPS. As it was time to go back all the Sisters of the community came to visit the learners and distributed chocolates to them. We captured the interesting moments of this day to cherish the memories. It was a fun learning experience for all.
