The best part of sports is the opportunity it offers to become confident participators and the ways we recognize our potential not only to win but most importantly to be a true sportsperson. At AIPS, sports is considered an essential part of school life and so on a daily basis we have various sports activities taking place ensuring that our learners are growing holistically. 22nd December 2022 was the time to bring it all together as one and participate in the Annual Sports Day 2022. Our learners learnt the drill and prepared themselves well for this day. The theme of our Annual Sports Day was Christmas, so all the games were around it. The day of 22nd December brought in great excitement amongst the learners and their parents as they all assembled on the grounds of Auxilium at 02.00 p.m. The event began with the welcoming of the learners, parents and the Chief Guest for the day Ms. Aurelia Gresseux the Kindergarten Co-ordinator of Auxilium Convent High School and presenting her a sapling as a symbol of our love and appreciation for her honoured presence. The sportsperson prayer is a long-going tradition at Auxilium and so with our hand on our heart we all proudly pledged to play each sport with determination and courage. Following the pledge 4 learners who bore the torch ran across the sports field. It was then time for the drill display where the learners of all the 3 classes displayed their exercises to the beats of various Christmas carols. Then began the races, the first race was the 50m Elves and Reindeers race for the Nursery learners followed by the Deco Run by the Junior K.G. where they decorated the Christmas tree with Christmas ornaments; they also had the Cake Dash where they had to decorate a cake. The Senior K.G. learners did the Obstacle race where they had to dodge the Christmas decorations and finally the Christmas shopping race. The concluding event was flat race for all the 3 classes. The learners enthusiastically participated in each of the races as their parents looked with pride to watch them run. The parents too were sporting as they happily came forward and took part in the parent’s flat race, this brought joy to the learners as they cheered for their parents. After all the races, the Chief Guest addressed all of us encouraging the learners for their participation and parents for their constant support. It was then time for prize distribution where each learner was awarded a chocolate medal by the Chief Guest. Ms. Abigail then presented the vote of thanks post which the Annual Sports Day 2022 concluded by singing the National Anthem.
