On 6th January 2023 our dear Mother Provincial Sr. Meena D’Silva visited us. The preparations for her visit had begun well in advanced where the learners practised a number of performances to present to our dear Mother. The day began with the morning program, our dear Mother arrived at AIPS along with our Manager Sr. Magdeline Sequeira and our Principal Sr. Gloria Ferrao at 9 a.m. Our learners welcomed Mother with loud cheers and waved their pom-poms in celebration of her arrival. Soon after the learners sang a welcome song. It was then time for the prayer moment that was animated by Sr.Sandra where we prayed for the intentions of our Mother and thanked God for her gift to us. A few learners of Junior K.G. and Senior K.G. then expressed their gratitude with kind words. The drill performance was the opening performance, all the learners displayed the drill on the song Christmas Polka. Following which they performed the action song the Christmas Carol ‘Rudolf the red-nosed Reindeer’. Our little ones from the Nursery too were excited for their turn to tell Mother what she means to them by singing “You are my sunshine” accompanied by Ms.Danica Machado and Ms. Abigail Tixeira. It was a delight to see them sing with sunflowers in their hand that they gave Sr. Meena after their performance. Sr. Sandra then invited Mother Provincial to address the gathering, where the learners were asked about their learnings at AIPS. Sr. Meena thanked the facilitators for their service to AIPS and also guided as to how we can strive to be better than the best with hard work, determination and creativity to standout. Her words of encouragement will ensure the growth of all learners in the most effective manner. Our learners then performed a prayer song ‘Everything I am’ that made the ambience calm and serene. It was then time to move to the project room where all the SDG projects on countries were on display, Sr. Meena was elated to see the efforts of the parents and the learners in making their projects innovative. Their certificate of participation were also given to the learners by Sr. Meena. The long wait finally came to an end as Sr. Meena inaugurated the Therapy Room, where the learners performed the Sakura dance choreographed by Ms. Fausta Fernandes, our dance facilitator. Finally it was time for the vote of thanks by Ms. Abigail thanking Sr. Meena for her presence and her constant guidance to scale AIPS to greater heights.
