The Joy of Giving is in itself an act of indefinite kindness. As a natural tendency, we are concerned with what we receive but not so much with what we give. The Joy of Giving week also known as the Daan Utsav is where we as individuals make our contribution towards others in any way we can. And this act of service is what we wished to inculcate in our learners and so during the Joy of Giving week 2022 we chalked out all our ideas to bring out this kind gesture among the little learners of AIPS.
Beginning from 3rd October 2022 right up to 7th October 2022 our learners brought an item from home everyday like stationery pencil, eraser, books, dal, etc. On 7th October our friends from Sahayani centre came in with excitement to meet all the learners. The programme for the day began with a short prayer moment where we invoked God’s blessings for the blessings we have and the grace to help others. After the assembly, the learners of AIPS performed a few action songs and so did the learners from Sahayani. All of them were amazed and had fun watching the entertaining action songs. It was then time to experience the Joy of Giving. From all the items that our learners had brought and the items contributed by our facilitators we created little hamper bags for them. These bags were then given personally by our learners to their friends. Each one had a Sahayini friend. Our learners in return received Thank-you cards along with a crayon box.
The immense feeling of gratitude reflected on the faces of our friends from Sahayani while our learners were surprised with their gesture of love. We snap shot these moments as both the groups came together as one to mark this day of learning and living with hope.
